Filterable gallery blocks: masonry, justified rows and grid layouts, a separate filter block, a lightbox, and images mixed with post or media queries.

== Description ==

Gallery Z adds three blocks:

* **Filterable Gallery** – a container that lays out its content as masonry, justified rows, grid, carousel or accordion, with columns, row height and aspect ratio per device (desktop, tablet, mobile). Click behavior: link (default), a native `<dialog>` lightbox, media file or none. No jQuery.
* **Gallery Filter** – category buttons that filter one gallery (or every gallery on the page). Place it anywhere: above, below or beside the gallery.
* **Gallery Media Query** – images from the Media Library by Gallery Category, inside a gallery.

A gallery holds regular core blocks: Image blocks, and Query Loop blocks (the "Gallery Posts" variation) with Post Featured Image and Post Title. Everything core offers for those blocks keeps working.

Images, posts and pages share the "Gallery Categories" taxonomy. Set categories on images in the gallery (one image or several selected at once) or in the Media Library (column, filter and bulk actions), and on posts in the post sidebar.

Tools → Gallery Z import brings over galleries from **Envira Gallery, NextGEN Gallery, Modula and FooGallery**: images in their order, alt text, captions, links, layout, columns, spacing, lightbox and tags (as filter categories). Each gallery becomes a draft page. Optional replacement shortcodes keep existing posts working, including the Envira, Modula and FooGallery blocks. Also available as `wp gallery-z import`.

= More =

* Patterns: photo portfolio, travel journal, food menu, team, hero carousel, latest posts carousel, filterable portfolio.
* Archive template for Gallery Categories in block themes.
* Command palette: add a filterable gallery, switch all galleries between Edit and Preview, tag selected images.
* Abilities API (WordPress 6.9+): AI agents can list categories, find and tag images, and create galleries.

= Gallery Z Pro =

Pro adds more ways to style and use the same blocks:

* Videos next to photos: Media Library files, YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok and Instagram. Hover for a muted preview, click to play in the lightbox; until then only the poster image loads.
* Filter styles and presets (pills, soft tags, segmented control, tabs, theme links), button sizes, count badges and colors, filtering by any taxonomy, and the filter in the URL.
* Carousel autoplay, arrows that follow the mouse, and the arrows' icon, shape, look, size and colors.
* Lightbox styles (dark, light, frosted) and colors; caption looks, alignment, sizes, colors and presets.
* More hover effects (lift, color on hover, dim others), more reveal effects and their stagger, and more filter animations.

Everything Pro sets keeps working without a license: galleries never change or break when a license ends.

= Privacy =

Gallery Z includes the Freemius SDK for licensing Gallery Z Pro. It runs in anonymous mode: there is no opt-in screen or prompt, and no data about your site is sent to Freemius. See the [Freemius privacy policy](https://freemius.com/privacy/).

Video items load nothing from YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok or Instagram until a visitor hovers over or opens one; then that provider's player loads (YouTube from youtube-nocookie.com, Vimeo with Do Not Track). Adding a video link in the editor (Pro) fetches its thumbnail from the provider once and saves it to your Media Library.
